get involved

There is only one Otter Officer for all of Sussex. With more people out looking we can find much more out about whats happening with wetland wildlife across the County and in your local area.

So when you are out and about enjoying the countryside, if you see an otter, water vole or any other wetland species then let us know. The information we require is the time, date and location (preferable a six figure grid reference) of your sighting and your contact details. Better still keep a note of everything you see in this spreadsheet (click here to download SXBRC Species Recorder).

Alternatively you can help us find out what wildlife is in your area by helping to organise a Parish Survey.

Or see how you can help wetland wildlife from home by downloading our free advice sheet, please click here.

Also you could create a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDs) and become a Water Wise Gardener.
